Packages

A package is a priced set of sessions with an expiry and a renewal price. The client is enrolled. Each session that is used is still a visit on the calendar.

What a package holds

You name the package, set the total price, a renewal price, and how many days it lasts. Payment is full, or partial with a minimum first payment. Cancellation can keep the session or forfeit it. There is a window for postponing and a window for pausing. You can allow more than one future visit, and you can allow use while a balance remains. The package can be limited to branches, staff, and resources. It is a switch: a business that sells single visits leaves packages off. An enrolled client is booked from the remaining sessions onto a time. That booking is an appointment. It is not a punch card in a drawer, and it is not a page where the client picks the slot.

A commission rule can point at a package, so the person who delivered the session is not paid from a rule that was meant for a single service. Two rules that are equally specific are rejected, so the ledger is not asked to pick. The English tutorial walks through setting the package up and enrolling someone. The cashier still shows due, paid, and remaining for the money. The package does not replace that screen.

What makes it different

A paper card can say eight sessions. It cannot tell the calendar that two of them are already booked, that a pause forfeits or keeps the session, or that the first payment was only the minimum. BOC keeps the enrollment, the remaining use, and the visit as the same client.

From enrollment to the chair

Staff create the package once: price, sessions, expiry, renewal, and whether the first visit must be paid in full or only to the minimum. They enroll the client. The remaining sessions are not a promise in a notebook. When the client comes back, staff book a visit on an open time, on a branch where the package is allowed, with a person and a resource the package allows. If the cancellation rule forfeits the session, a late cancel consumes it. If the rule keeps it, the session stays. A postponed visit uses the postpone window rather than disappearing. Payment of the package price is still the cashier: due, paid, and remaining, in full or in parts. The client is not emailed a link to spend a session themselves. There is no self-booking portal. At the end of the course, renewal is the renewal price on that package, not a new stranger in the book.

How it works in BOC

  1. Set the package. Name, total price, renewal price, expiry, sessions, and full or partial payment.
  2. Choose the rules. Cancellation keeps or forfeits the session. Set the postpone and pause windows.
  3. Limit where it runs. Branches, staff, and resources can be part of the package.
  4. Enroll and book. Enroll the client. Book a remaining session as a visit. Staff pick the time.
  5. Take the money at the cashier. Due, paid, and remaining stay on the cashier, including a minimum first payment.

Who it is for

Clinics A clinic enrolls a course of visits and books each one, instead of a tally on the file jacket.

Dental clinics A dental clinic can leave packages off and still chart the tooth and take payment.

Dermatology and laser A laser clinic books each package session on the machine, with capacity, as a visit.

Beauty salons A salon sells a colour course and books the remaining sessions on the stylist’s book.

Spas A spa uses expiry and a renewal price so a treatment course does not run forever on one payment.

Barbershops A barbershop can sell a set of visits and still pause one without losing the card in a drawer.

Physiotherapy A physiotherapy practice enrolls return visits and books them before the client leaves.

Sports clubs A club enrolls a set of sessions with a coach. Members do not book themselves.

Questions

Can a client book a session online?

No. There is no self-booking portal. Staff book the remaining session as a visit.

What does partial payment mean?

The package can require only a minimum first payment. The cashier still tracks due, paid, and remaining.

What happens on cancellation?

The package rule either keeps the session or forfeits it. There are also windows for postpone and pause.

Can a package be limited to one branch?

Yes. Branches, staff, and resources can be part of the package.

Does renewal start a new client?

No. Renewal uses the renewal price on that package for the enrolled client.

Does every business need packages?

No. Leave the switch off and book single visits.
