BOC for spas

A spa sells time in a room and often a course of visits. BOC books the room, keeps the course as a package, and separates the therapist’s accrued visits from the cash payout.

The room and the course

Staff book the treatment on the calendar. The room is a resource with a limit, so two treatments are not stacked on it. A course is a package with a price, sessions, an expiry, and a renewal price. The first payment can be the full price or a minimum. Each return visit is booked by staff from the remaining sessions. The guest does not get a page to pick the next hour.

The client file holds the notes for that person. The cashier shows due, paid, and remaining for the package or the single visit, with cash, card, and wallet kept apart. A commission rule can sit on the therapist and can point at the package, so a package session is not paid from a rule written for a single treatment. Two equally specific rules are refused. The cash payout runs only when live payout is on, and it leaves once. Clocking in does not pay the wage.

Daily problems

The course has no expiry

A package has an expiry and a renewal price, so one payment does not run the course forever.

The room is promised twice

Staff book a time the calendar accepts. A full room is not given a second treatment on top.

The envelope and the visits disagree

Commission accrues from the delivered visit. Pay is a later payout, once, when live payout is on.

Questions

Can a guest book the next treatment online?

No. Staff book it. There is no self-booking portal.

Does a package expire?

Yes. You set the number of days, and a renewal price for the next course.

Does clocking in pay the therapist?

No. Attendance is separate. Pay is a payout of salary, commission, bonus, or overtime when live payout is on.

Can two commission rules both apply?

If they are equally specific, BOC refuses the clash instead of paying both.

Where is a partial package payment shown?

On the cashier, as due, paid, and remaining.
