BOC for beauty salons
A salon day is chairs, a colour course, retail on the shelf, and a drawer that must still match the book at closing. BOC keeps the book, the file, the package, and the cashier together.
The book and the shelf
Each stylist’s day is the calendar. Staff book the visit. A walk-in who was not on the morning book can still be taken at the cashier. A colour course can be a package with sessions and an expiry, and each remaining session is booked as a visit rather than ticked on a card in the drawer. The client file holds notes and photos for that person.
Retail is inventory: a name, a cost, a sale price, an expiry, and a low-stock line, with quantity per branch. Selling it at the cashier reduces that branch. Waste is recorded and does not become an operating expense. Internal use is not a sale. Cash, card, and wallet stay separate on the cashier, so the evening count is not a guess about which method was which. A discount stays pending until someone allowed to accept it says yes. Until then the original price is what is due.
Daily problems
The colour card is in a drawer
A package keeps the sessions and the expiry. Staff book the next visit from what remains.
The shelf and the drawer disagree
A product sale at the cashier reduces branch stock. Waste is not posted as an operating expense.
A discount is used before anyone accepted it
A pending discount is not the price. The reduced price is used only after approval.

What BOC uses for this
- Smart Calendar One book for the chairs. Staff move a visit. Clients do not book themselves.
- Packages A course of sessions with a price and an expiry, booked as visits.
- Client Records Notes and photos for that client, not a card under the till.
- Cashier & Daily Income Due, paid, and remaining, with cash, card, and wallet kept apart.
- Inventory & Sales Quantity per branch, expiry, and a sale that reduces stock.
Questions
Can a client book a colour appointment online?
No. Staff book the visit. There is no self-booking portal.
Does selling a bottle reduce stock?
Yes, when it is sold at the cashier, on that branch.
Is wasted colour an expense?
Waste is recorded. It does not become an operating expense.
When does a discount change the price?
Only after someone with permission approves it. Until then the original price is due.
Can two branches share one stock pile?
Quantity is per branch. A transfer moves it. Repeating the same transfer request does not double the move.
